*We can provide HGV and taxi medicals, however we require you to obtain and share with us a copy of your medical records. Please call for further details.

Immunisations

What we offer

We offer a range of immunisations, which we can give at our clinic or at a home visit. These include: chickenpox, shingles and hepatitis A&B. We can arrange many others on enquiry.

What do I do next?

Click here to make an enquiry. We will respond within 1 working day with next steps. If your enquiry can’t wait please call us

Q. Why do I need to make an enquiry?

Before arranging your immunisation we will check it is the right thing for you, and that it is something we can offer. We assess:

  1. do we need more information e.g. your medical problems, your vaccination record or travel itinerary.
  2. Is there a better option for you
  3. is it best that you have a doctor consultation first.

We will also check if what you are requesting follows the national vaccination schedule, as you can usually obtain these vaccinations can usually be obtained free from your NHS GP.

Medical Documents

Book a GP appointment, if you want to discuss a documentation need.

Following our assessment, if it is clinically appropriate, we can help you with documentation such as:

– Fit Notes and Return to work notes

We can provide fit notes and return to work notes for your employer for injuries and temporary illnesses, as long as our doctor decides it clinically appropriate following your consultation.

If you have been off sick for a long time, or you require sick certification for statutory pay purposes, it is usually more appropriate to get your medical certification from an NHS GP.

– Private Referrals – Medicals

What about other letters?

We know sometimes you are asked to get a letter from a GP. We assess each request for such a letter on a case by case basis at your doctors consultation, and seek to help where we can. For example, if you arrange a coronavirus test through us, we can issue you with documented certification once we receive the result.

However, often the documentation you are being asked for requires a check on your full medical record. If this is the case, we are often unable to assist, and you are best off speaking to your NHS GP. Examples of letters we cannot usually provide are:

  • ‘fit-to’ letters e.g. ‘fit-to scuba dive’
  • Insurers requesting ‘further information’ to approve insurance claims
  • Firearms Licences
  • Letters to colleges and universities requesting special dispensation/ delays to your course

We are always seeking to increase what we can do for our patients and can discuss with you options to increase what we can do, for instance getting permission to speak with your GP may permit us to offer more detailed documentation.

Referrals

If you think you need a private referral, or you are unsure, your first step is to make a GP appointment with us. Our GP will first assess you, and if it is clinically appropriate they can write you your referral letter.

Please note unfortunately at this time we are unable to do NHS referrals.

Please CLICK HERE to book an appointment with us.

How much do referral letters cost?

One referral letter per consultation is provided for no additional cost. We reserve the right to charge extra for multiple referral letter requests within the same consultation.

Requests for referral letters for conditions we have previously treated or referred you for can be considered outside of a consultation. Your request will be assessed for suitability and we will either agree to prescribe or recommend a further consultation. If we agree to prescribe this will incur a charge of £25 per prescription

Prescriptions

Private Prescriptions

If you have a consultation with us and we agree you require a prescription, we provide a private e-prescription free of charge. We will then contact your chosen pharmacy and send the prescription to them.

How much do private prescriptions cost?

We do not charge a prescribing fee when issued during a consultation with us. However, pharmacies will charge you for the item and their dispensing fee. Unfortunately we cannot advise you how much this will cost you.

Please note at this time we don’t offer NHS prescriptions.

What can you Prescribe?

We can prescribe for you as long as it is the right medication for your care, and if it is safe to do so.

There are some items we do not prescribe, since we have evaluated it is not safe to do so. This is either because:

it is not safe to issue without examining you in person first, or

because we feel it would only be safe to do so if we had access to your full medical record.

Examples of medicines we either do not prescribe or have prescribing limitations on include: controlled medications; benzodiazepines; sleeping tablets; unlicensed medications. We never prescribe any recreational or performance enhancing medications.

Requests for prescriptions without a consultation are available for any item we have previously prescribed for you. Your request will be assessed for suitability and we will either agree to prescribe or recommend a further consultation. If we agree to prescribe this will incur a charge of £25 per prescription.

Travel

We offer a travel advisory service. We can help you with the following subject to a consultation.

  • Antimalarials
  • Motion sickness
  • Jet lag
  • Altitude medicine
  • Travel vaccinations

Q. Why do I require a doctors consultation?

Before we prescribe we will check you have sought (or know how to seek) travel advice from a travel clinic (e.g. your NHS GP or a private travel clinic) You may not be aware that many travel medicines, though commonly used, are not actually licenced for the purpose. The prescribing doctor must therefore very clearly explain the medicine usage and side effects.
