Medicals Check-Up

Prime Medicare Ltd. offers a broad range of medical wellness checklists tailored to your medical requirements, including:

  • HGV & Taxi Medicals
  • Well Man Packages
  • Well Woman Packages

In the case of HGV & taxi medicals, we will ask you to share a copy of your medical records with us. Our team of private GP’s will then proceed further by providing you with a complete wellness check within two days of your request. The attached information can be overwhelming; hence we offer a complimentary remote consultation to you. Within 2 weeks after getting the medical checkup, you can have a detailed discussion with our private GP.

Immunisations

Vaccines are the world’s safest approach for protecting children from diseases like polio, measles, and smallpox, helping children grow healthy and happy. At Prime Medicare, we offer a broad range of adult and childhood immunisations, including chickenpox, shingles, hepatitis A & B, etc.

Why Do We Need Immunisation?

Vaccines teach your immune system how to create antibodies to protect you from several life-threatening conditions. Once your immune system knows how to fight a disease, it can often save you from getting infected by them.

What We Offer

We offer a broad range of immunisations, which we give at our GP clinics or in a home visit. These include:

  • chickenpox
  • Shingles
  • Hepatitis A&B.

We can arrange many others on enquiry.

Schedule Your Vaccination Appointment

Contact us to book an appointment with our qualified private GP’s. Before arranging immunization for you, our experts will ask you to share your medical history, vaccination record, and travel itinerary. Our team will assess whether the requested immunization is the right option for you or not. We highly recommend having a doctor’s consultation first.

Our team can also guide you about the national vaccination schedule to get adult or childhood immunisation from NHS GP, usually free of cost.

Medical Documents

Medical Documentation & Sick Certification

Many companies demand a medical and sick certification from the employees if they have been on sick leave. It is commonly applied after two consecutive days of illness, although policies vary across organizations.

Fit Notes and Return to Work Notes

We can help you with documentation following our assessment if clinically appropriate. Our team of experts can deliver fit notes and return to work notes for your employer in case of severe injuries and temporary illnesses. We can also provide sick certification for statutory payment purposes.

What About Other Letters?

If you arrange a coronavirus test through us, we can provide you with a documented certification once we receive the result.

However, the documentation you are being asked for often requires a check on your full medical record. If this is the case, we are often unable to assist, and you are best off speaking to your NHS GP. Examples of letters we cannot usually provide includes:

  • ‘fit-to’ letters, e.g. ‘fit-to scuba dive’
  • Insurers requesting ‘further information to approve insurance claims
  • Firearms Licenses
  • Letters to colleges and universities requesting special dispensation/ delays to your course

We are always seeking to increase what we can do to help patients and discuss options to improve what we can do; for instance, getting permission to speak with your GP may permit us to offer more detailed documentation.

Referrals

Our expert team of certified private GP’s can generally solve most problems and provide treatment accordingly, but the need for a personal physician is sometimes mandatory. If you think you need a private referral or you’re unsure, your first step is to make a GP appointment with us. Our team will first assess you, and if it is clinically appropriate, they may write a GP referral letter for you.

How Long Does it Take to Get a Referral Letter?

At Prime Medicare, we can instantly issue specialist consultant referrals; hence, you can immediately get the further expert treatment you need.

A GP referral letter is also needed, especially if you plan to fund treatment through a private medical insurance company. Our experts can provide an urgent GP referral letter in a same-day GP consultation.

How Much Do a GP Referral Letters Cost?

One referral letter per consultation is provided for no additional or hidden private prescription charges. However, we retain the right to impose additional charges for multiple referral letters during the same consultation. If we agree to prescribe, it will incur a charge of £25 per prescription.

Check our Pricing Page to know details regarding our private prescription charges.

Please note that we are unable to provide NHS referrals at this time.

Prescriptions

Private Prescriptions

If we agree to provide you with a private prescription in our remote appointment with you, we offer a private e-prescription free of charge. Our team will then contact your chosen pharmacy and send them a copy of the prescription.

How Much Do Private Prescriptions Cost?

We do not charge a prescribing fee when issued during a remote appointment. However, pharmacies will charge you for the medications and their dispensing fee. Unfortunately, we cannot advise you how much this will cost you.

Please Note at This Time, We Do Not Offer NHS Prescriptions.

Which Medications Do You Not Prescribe?

We do not prescribe you the medicines that we think are not safe for your overall health without examining you in person. Medications that we either do not prescribe or have prescribing limitations on include:

  • Controlled medications
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Sleeping tablets
  • Unlicensed medications
  • Performance-enhancing drugs

Private Prescriptions Without a Consultation

Why do I require a doctor’s consultation?

Before we prescribe, we will check you have sought (or know how to seek) travel advice from a travel clinic (e.g., your NHS GP or a private travel clinic). You may not be aware that many travel medicines, though commonly used, are not actually licensed for the purpose. Therefore, the prescribing doctor must very clearly explain the medicine usage and side effects.
